I'm really surprised at how strong this bed rail is! I usually don't read instructions, but I paid close attention to these instructions because there was one section, the corner area, that I started to connect upside down. And when they say to hold the "marbles" in, they mean to push and hold the metal spring ball tabs in. I ended up installing mine a little differently than in the advertisement, on purpose. I put the horizontal handle on the outside side of the bed, and the pocket opening on the mattress side. The horizontal handle helps me get up from my chair, and the pocket being in the mattress side makes things easier to reach while I'm in bed. I use the pocket for my bed remote and for my phone and charging cord..They give you four extra screws so you can screw the bed rail to the bed frame or box spring. I didn't screw mine down and it still works great from the inside and outside of the bed. I have a heavy 6 inch mattress on a bed frame that can tilt upwards. The mattress is enough to keep it in place. It's sturdy from the top down if you're are outside of bed, and sturdy in all ways, even pulling, when you are in bed because you are supporting it with your weight. If you have a mattress that is thicker than 6 inches, make sure you put the pocket on the outside because your mattress will be in the way. The bottom of the pocket starts 6 inches up from the part that slides under your mattress.Great product!! I'm happy to use this every day. Thanks!
I have an upcoming spinal surgery, and it not being my first, I know what to expect. My biggest obstacle was simply getting up from a laying down position. So, I got to thinking, what did I do when I was in the hospital? Oh yeah, bed rails! I looked over several, but none of them had all of the features I wanted. This one looks to be just what I need! I really like the storage pocket and the light features. One thing--I like having the light, but would rather it be battery operated. It is going to be really inconvenient, especially if I can't get around well, to have to charge the light w/USB port. Annoying, but no biggie. I tried the rail out on my bed, and it seems to be really sturdy! I'm obviously not looking forward to a surgery, but am glad to have this bed rail to help me out.
Got this for my 74 year old mom to assist her getting out of bed. It's easy to assemble. We had to improvise securing the strap under the mattress. The strap was not long enough for her king size bed to secure it to the opposite rail of the bed frame. We secured it to the opposite side headboard. I pulled with all of my weight and the rail didn't move. It has a very bright motion sensor light that's rechargeable. It's sturdy and good quality. She says it has really helped her and she likes it.
This rail is easy to put to together. It’s very sturdy.
Easy to assemble with locking button detents. Once all together you adjust so the height of the 90-degree support is the same height of your mattress bottom. Lift the mattress and slide that under the mattress. Once placed under the mattress the handle becomes rock solid. When in bed it is just the right height to easily grab the rubber-covered handle. This is perfect to give you that extra bit of support when getting into or out of bed.
